The Botanical Gardens of Castle Trauttmansdorff
A burst of colour and symphony of scents: the Botanical Gardens at Castle Trauttmansdorff captivate the senses and seduce with the power and diversity of nature. 350,000 messengers of springtime at the start of April, lavender and water lilies in summer and forest gardens submersed in bright red and yellow in autumn. So it’s wonderful that this former place, yearned for by Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), is just a 10 minute walk from the Hotel Pienzenau!
The Botanical Gardens play host to some high-calibre open-air concerts from June to August. The open-air concert series is one of the most significant world music festivals in Italy; long-established greats of the musical scene have already performed on stage of the water lily pond in the gardens.
